Although we play this game with 2 players, Baccarat involves a number of players that can vary up to 14 people, allowing people to bet even if they are not playing, just like blackjack.
Before any distribution of the cards the players can bet as follow:
- On the player as the winner of the hand,
- The dealer as the winner of the hand
- The tie on both.
The tie is paid 8 to 1, while in other cases is paid 2 to 1 (including the player’s bet). In case of victory of the dealer, sometimes he takes the same percentage of bets on the table.
The game follows a very strict lineup; starting from the dealer two cards are dealt to the player and the dealer, which is managed by the dealer himself: if one of these hands has made 8 or 9 points, that is a natural, both hands are shown, the highest point wins if a tie occurs the hand is equal.
But if anyone should have a natural, then we act according to the player’s cards: if he have a 6 or a 7 the player does not take any cards, otherwise they will receive another one.
So it’s the turn of the dealer:
- He stay if value of his cards is 7;
- If the value is 6, the dealer draws a card if the player’s third card is a 6 or 7;
- If the value is 5, the dealer draws a card if the player’s third card is a 4,5,6 or 7;
- If the value is 4, the dealer draws a card if the player’s third card is a 2,3,4,5,6 or 7;
- If the value is 3, the dealer draws a card if the player’s third card is different from 8 and 9;
- If the value is 2.1 or 0, the banker always another card.
After the dealer made his move, the cards are shown and the player with the total value of the cards that is closer to 9 wins.
Baccarat is played with 6 decks of cards, excluding French joker in the table, a player takes the dealer role, putting at the center, the other players, unknown number, are placed to the right and left of the dealer, in special areas called tableaux or wings. Players have the option of a single tableau, one at a time, playing cards, until they lose against the dealer, and then spend the next hand to his companion, the player who at one time the possibility of playing cards is called pointer.
Do you understand the rules in general, let’s see it in details:
The tableaux of the two players place their bets, in tableaux of who has priority to play cards. Players can do it while not exceeding the maximum limit set by the player holding the dealer, they can play on a tableau or the other, or both by placing the money in the center, in which case there will be many possibilities:
- Both the wings loose, then the player who has placed at the center loses money.
- Both the wings win, then the player who placed the money in the middle wins.
- Wing wins and loses, in which case the player’s bet remains frozen.
- Wing wins and the other goes to a tie, in which case the player wins half the bet and the other half remains frozen.
- Loses wing and the other goes to a tie, in which case the player loses half the bet and the other half remains frozen.
The dealer deal the cards as follow: one on the right tableau, a tableau of the left and one to himself, and repeats this operation again. In practice, each wing will distribute 2 cards and 2 cards to himself.
The players (including the dealer or banco) may now (in the order in which they were also given cards) stand, or if they do not want more cards, or open, or want another card, this time discovered, also a third option: to fly, or to show their cards if they have a total score of 8 or 9 (highest point), in which case you will not have to wait your turn, but declare it immediately.
The bars have a higher value than the score with three cards, so if a player beats the dealer gets 8 and 9 calling card, the player wins the same as the rebate is worth more than 8 of 9 with three cards.
The dealer collects the bet at the end of any losers (loser tableau) and pay the sum of possible winners (winning tableau).
